Bright Festival Brussels
Mont des Arts – Mural on the KBR
Brussels, Belgium

For the 3rd year running, Les Rencontres Audiovisuelles are taking part in the Bright Festival in Brussels, this time with 2 creations to discover: a spectacular mapping on the Cinquantenaire Arcades and a work on a mural by the artist Phlegm on the KBR (national scientific library).

CINQUANTENAIRE ARCADES

A journey through the rich collections of the Cinquantenaire plateau museums (Art & History, Army & Autoworld) during a spectacular monumental video mapping on the Cinquantenaire Arcades, which prefigures the bicentenary of the kingdom in 2030.

▶ Doom Scroll Odyssey
Doom Scroll Odyssey reinvents cultural travel. Explore 9 regions of the globe through captivating artistic scenes inspired by iconic works of art. The visual experience, combined with a musical immersion that blends traditional themes with a contemporary touch, offers an innovative perspective on the world’s artistic wealth, while inviting us to reflect on our “doom scrolling” habits.

Visual creation: Simon LEBON, Hamza MRABET, Adrien TISON
Original music: Géraldine KWIK

MONT DES ARTS – MURAL ON THE KBR

A silent, hypnotic video mapping of a mural on one of KBR’s facades, a perfect match for the famous surrounding Mont des Arts.

▶ Elixir
A silent work, this video mapping illuminates Phlegm’s mural. Through the interplay of shadow and colour, texture and material, this projection will give an offbeat, surreal context to this visual narrative, which is already full of it.

Direction and animation: Patrick GRANDI

The mapping on the Cinquantenaire Arcades is funded by the European Commission, the Belgian federal government and the National Lottery as part of the Horizon 2030 programme, and produced in collaboration with asbl 50/200.
