Research Conference 5

How to grasp and understand the experience of the audience?, by Daniel Schmitt
Whether it is cinema, live performance or video mapping, many surveys collect the audience’s words after the event.
In general, these words are made of feelings, emotions and a global impression, with few prominent elements. Is it possible to collect the audience’s experience more precisely, in order to get and understand the articulation of their experience? Can we thus imagine an experiential grammar useful for the creators?
Daniel Schmitt is a lecturer in Information and Communication Sciences at the University of Valenciennes. He teaches new media (writing, creation, production); his researches focus on the construction of meanings created by the mediation of these new media in an ecological situation.
